Actions
The Adfer Dyfi project strands include a wide range of actions and activities such as:
- Selective grazing using GIS collar systems to protect SSSI river banks and avoid over-grazing or under-grazing of areas;
- Fencing of water courses to ensure less stock pollution and erosion of banks;
- Planting or tree management providing a mosaic of sun, shade and habitat;
- Extension of slo-flo measures to a wider catchment to reduce water erosion and produce a lag to benefit river ecology (and also human habitation and infrastructure);
- Support for species using the Dyfi and linked environs;
- Improved pollinator habitats with a trial in Dyfi Catchment to encourage more nesting solitary bees;
- River species and river health monitoring;
- Local community involvement;
- Events and materials for schools.
The Nature Networks Fund (round three) is being delivered by the Heritage Fund, on behalf of the Welsh Government and in partnership with Natural Resources Wales.
