About

This grass-roots project is developed from award-winning pilot work undertaken by the lead applicant Partneriaeth Pennal in part of the catchment which has enabled the involvement of universities and production of several world-class research projects. The work includes actions by landowners and partners to provide cleaner water, a greater range of habitats and improved access to natural heritage.

The Partnership will be working with New Dovey Fishery, which owns the freehold of the River Dyfi, and Natural Resources Wales which has responsibility for the management plans of protected areas like the Dyfi Estuary.

The Estuary is designated a Special Protection Area for birds, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, an UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and a RAMSAR site (Ramsar is the name of a city in Iran where the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance was held in 1971).
